Rules & Regulations


Eligibility:

- Open to individuals under 18 years old as of the 31st of August 2024.
- Participants can join individually or in teams of 2-4.
- All participants must be enrolled in a high school.

Presentation:

- All presentations must be written in English and presented in either Google Slides or Microsoft PowerPoint.
- The presentation must have a minimum of 8 slides and a maximum of 30 slides.
- Title page should contain the title of the presentation, team name, and participant details.
- If applicable, include a list of references in a consistent citation style at the end of the essay.
Ensure that all guidelines are followed to avoid disqualification or a reduction in points.

Deadlines:

- The sign up deadline is the 30th of September, 11:59 PM (NZST).
- The deadline for submissions is the 20th of October, 11:59 PM (NZST).
- Late submissions will not be considered.

Conduct and Integrity:

- Teams must maintain fair play and professional conduct throughout the competition.
- Any form of cheating, plagiarism, or unethical behaviour will result in immediate disqualification.
- The use of artificial intelligence is strictly prohibited and all submitted essays will be run through an AI detector. If any portion of the presentation is found to be AI generated, your work will be immediately disqualified.
- Participants must not disclose their ideas or solutions to other teams before or during the competition.
- Essays will only be used for judging purposes.

Judging Panel's Decision:

- All decisions made by the judging panel are final and not subject to appeal.
